Mother Sentenced in Landmark Swedish Case for Failing to Prevent Daughter's Female Genital Mutilation

In a groundbreaking ruling in Sweden, a mother has been sentenced to over three years in prison for aggravated assault related to female genital mutilation (FGM) inflicted on her seven-year-old daughter. This case marks the first conviction in Sweden connected to FGM.
