Swedish handball coach Henrik Signell has officially taken over as the head coach of Norwegian club Larvik. According to reports, he is expected to sign a multi-year contract with the team. Signell brings a wealth of experience, having previously coached top clubs like Sävehof in women's handball and Skövde in men's handball. Notably, he has also led the Swedish and South Korean women's national teams, showcasing his versatility across both genders in the sport.
Recently, Signell transitioned from coaching the South Korean women's team to taking charge of the Netherlands women's national team. His move to Larvik marks another significant step in his coaching career. He is currently in Norway and is set to conduct his first training session on Saturday.
Bent Svele, a handball expert for TV2, praised Larvik’s hiring of Signell, noting it as a significant enhancement for the team, especially as they aim to build on their third-place finish in the Norwegian league last season. As of now, Larvik’s general director, Brede Csiszar, has yet to comment on the appointment.
