The court acknowledged visible injuries to the victim, including a mild concussion, although medical attention was not sought. The player, who maintains his innocence, claims the altercation was instigated by the victim.

The Swedish appellate court upheld a previous ruling, allowing the player to avoid jail time. Originally sentenced to two months in prison, the district court re-evaluated the case, yielding a sentence of 75 hours of community service and a payment of 15,000 kronor to the victim due to his clean prior record and stable circumstances.
