Brendan Shinnimin, the Canadian forward, has officially signed a one-year contract to return to Luleå Hockey, as confirmed on September 25, 2025. This marks his fifth season with the team, after playing a pivotal role in leading them to their first SM-guld in 29 years last season. Shinnimin's excitement was palpable when he stated, "It feels really inspiring to return to Luleå Hockey for another season together," reflecting his eagerness to contribute to the team's continued success.

Due to a requirement concerning his sign-off bonus, Shinnimin was unable to join the team at the start of the season and had to remain outside of Sweden for six months, a situation that had been addressed earlier by media in April. However, fans have a lot to look forward to as he prepares to make his highly anticipated return to the ice on November 13, when he is set to play against Djurgården.

In his time with Luleå, Shinnimin has accumulated an impressive 247 points in 410 SHL matches, scoring 118 goals and providing 129 assists, showcasing his significant impact on the ice. Luleå has begun the season strong but experienced two consecutive losses recently, underscoring the team’s need for his energy and experience as they aim for another championship. Shinnimin emphasized his commitment, stating, "I look forward to coming back to the team and contributing with my energy and leadership to help us aim for another SM-guld. Right now, I just can't wait to return to the team, the city, and the league's best fans, and to start working hard towards our new goals."
