The 2025 Gasellgalan awards celebrated Sweden's fastest-growing companies, highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit particularly vibrant in northern regions. Norrbotten leads with the highest number of Gasell companies per capita, followed by Jämtland and Västerbotten. The event at Kulturhuset Väven in Umeå gathered around 250 guests, showcasing notable winners and upcoming changes for the Gasell competition. Arctic Space Technologies earned the 'Gasell of the Year' in the small company category, with CEO Felix Hessinger emphasizing their rapid growth from just over SEK 1 million to more than SEK 30 million in revenue within four years while planning international expansion but staying committed to Norrland's renewable energy resources. Rutqvists Schakt received the nod in the larger company category, with insights shared on balancing work and family life. Speakers including Karin Bodin, CEO of Polargruppen, pointed out the importance of maintaining personal relationships amid business growth. For 2025, the competition will feature new award categories and reduce the employee requirement from 10 to 5, broadening eligibility. In December, Dagens Industri (Di) will present honors at Gasellgalan in three categories: Årets Impactgasell, Årets Kvinnliga Gasell, and Årets Internationella Gasell. Entrepreneurs will have the chance to present their business ideas to the jury, with Rebecka Forsman Fresk, head of Di Gasell, highlighting the importance of finalists sharing their stories and ambitions. The evening also featured a traditional Swedish menu by chef Pontus Frithiof, celebrating national culinary heritage alongside business achievements.
