Two Separate Shooting Incidents Leave Victims Seriously Injured in Sweden

Two separate shooting incidents on March 25, 2026, have left individuals seriously injured and brought concern to local communities in Sweden.

In Tyresö, south of Stockholm, a shooting occurred around 15:05 on a public SL bus during passenger drop-off at a bus stop. The bus had around 20 passengers aboard when the unknown assailant fired shots, seriously injuring one person who was quickly transported to the hospital. Police have confirmed the injured individual’s identity but are withholding it for privacy reasons. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. Nearby schools, including Tyresö gymnasium, Nybodaskolan, and Dalskolan, were put on lockdown as a precaution. Emil Johansson, principal of Tyresö gymnasium, described an atmosphere of unease with concerns from students and parents. Local residents voiced worries about safety, especially for their children, with one mother expressing her anxiety since her son was close to the scene at the time of the shooting.

Later the same day at 18:39 in Rosengård, Malmö, a 15-year-old boy was found with gunshot wounds and taken to the hospital in an unspecified condition. Police arrested two other 15-year-olds, a girl and a boy, at the scene. Police spokesperson Filip Annas stated that multiple individuals were present during the shooting and that investigators will interview witnesses and review surveillance footage as part of the ongoing technical investigation. The crime scene is currently cordoned off for evidence collection.

Both incidents have prompted police investigations aiming to apprehend suspects and ascertain the circumstances of the shootings. The events have heightened community concerns about safety and public security in both locations.
