Three prominent members of Sweden’s cross-country skiing team, Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson, and Linn Svahn, have decided to skip the high-altitude training camp in Lavazé, Italy, set to begin in early September 2025. The Swedish Ski Federation has stated that the athletes expressed their preference for individual training adjustments to suit their specific needs in the final phase of their training regimen.

Frida Karlsson will focus on training camps in Font Romeu, France, and Tenerife, Spain, as she aims to work closely with her team and physiotherapist. Ebba Andersson, instead of training at high altitude, will join the long-distance team, Team Engcon, for training at home this fall. Meanwhile, Linn Svahn is continuing her rehabilitation and training in Östersund after dealing with lingering effects from a concussion sustained during the World Championships last winter.

The primary objective for these athletes is the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy from February 6 to 22, which will feature cross-country events in Val di Fiemme. Additionally, the World Cup season will kick off in Ruka, Finland, from November 28 to 30, marking a critical time for these athletes as they prepare for international competitions.
