KA Vvs Introduces 'Grön Byggvärme', a Sustainable Construction Site Heating Solution

Swedish family-owned company KA Vvs Service from Tullinge has launched an innovative and eco-friendly heating system called Grön Byggvärme, designed specifically for construction sites. Leveraging air/water heat pump technology, the mobile heating units provide a sustainable alternative to traditional diesel-based construction heating, offering significant energy savings and operational flexibility.

The initial 16 kW model, capable of heating approximately 1,000 square meters, was introduced last winter. A larger 30 kW variant is planned for release soon, designed to heat up to 3,000 square meters. This technology reduces energy consumption by 70-80% compared to conventional methods, which often burn up to 10 liters of diesel per hour. The system can operate effectively in temperatures as low as -28 degrees Celsius and is compatible with existing heating systems such as underfloor heating and radiators.

Grön Byggvärme also includes data tracking features that monitor energy consumption, aiding companies in their sustainability reporting. Turbinen Entreprenad AB has already implemented two heating units to efficiently heat a six-story construction project, consuming only 14 kW per hour to cover 2,800 square meters.

The idea for Grön Byggvärme was sparked by the observation of high operating costs and environmental impacts associated with traditional construction heating. KA Vvs has established a dedicated entity, Grön Byggvärme AB, to focus on further development of sustainable heating solutions and is in the process of seeking EU patent protection for the system.

This introduction marks a significant shift toward greener construction site operations in Sweden, offering cost-effective heating while supporting environmental goals.
