Armand Duplantis Moves to Monaco for Better Training, Sells Stockholm Luxury Apartment

Swedish pole vaulting star Armand Duplantis has sold his luxury apartment in Stockholm and relocated to Monaco to benefit from better training facilities and spend more time in Europe. His agent, Daniel Wessfeldt, confirmed that Monaco will now serve as Duplantis's primary base, allowing him to shift focus from the United States and concentrate on European training environments.

Duplantis and his wife, Desiré Inglander, who secretly married in March in Stockholm, previously purchased an apartment in Östermalm last August for about 20 million SEK but have now sold it. Despite leaving Sweden, the couple will rely on staying with family and friends during visits to the country. Duplantis will continue competing for Uppsala IF and represent the Swedish national team.

The relocation to Monaco, known for its luxury amenities including gym access and concierge services, is not motivated by tax reasons. Wessfeldt emphasized that despite Monaco's reputation as a tax haven, Duplantis remains subject to U.S. taxes due to his citizenship. This move represents a strategic decision focused on training and lifestyle rather than financial benefits. The couple plans to hold a wedding celebration in Cannes, France, this summer.
