Voter Support Trends Shift in August 2025 Polling

A recent DN/Ipsos poll, conducted from August 12 to 24, 2025, reveals significant changes in voter support among Swedish political parties. The Moderaterna party has seen a notable decline, now at 17%, a drop of over 2 percentage points since June and its lowest level since December 2023. This decline is largely attributed to controversies surrounding immigration policies and recent issues related to Israel, as stated by Ipsos analyst Nicklas Källebring.

Conversely, the Sverigedemokraterna (SD) has solidified its position as the leading party within the Tidö bloc, gaining support to 20%. Likewise, the Kristdemokraterna (KD) has increased its voter share to 5%, marking its strongest performance in nearly three years. Socialdemokraterna maintains the largest voter base with 34% support, showing a slight uptick since June. The Centerpartiet remains steady at 5%, while the Miljöpartiet has not changed since June.

Notably, Vänsterpartiet continues to struggle, now at 7%, facing internal conflicts and departures of key members. The shifting dynamics among the Tidö parties signal a narrowing of the opposition's lead to approximately 6 percentage points, suggesting a changing political landscape as Sweden heads toward the next election.
