TV4 Revamps Allsvenskan Coverage with New Hosts, Experts, and Program Formats

Allsvenskan football is making a much-anticipated return to TV4 after a six-season absence, with broadcasters unveiling an exciting new lineup and programming to elevate the viewing experience for fans across Sweden. The new season kicks off the first weekend of April, marking a fresh start in football coverage on the channel.

Johan Cederqvist, TV4's sports director, announced several key changes including new ways to follow Allsvenskan through on-site studio shows and enhanced commentary. Lasse Granqvist, a renowned name in Swedish football broadcasting, will take on dual duties as both host and commentator. Sharing presenting responsibilities are Petra Svensson and Axel Pileby, the latter leaving his roles on 'Nyhetsmorgon' and 'Efter Fem' to focus on the football broadcasts. Pileby, 39, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "There is not much that beats the feeling of being on site at an Allsvenskan football arena," reflecting his passion for Swedish football.

The program will also feature insights from expert analysts including former players John Guidetti, Nordin Gerzic, and Simon Thern, reinforcing in-depth football knowledge alongside the entertainment. Linn Nordström joins the team as a reporter, bringing additional coverage strength.

Highlighting the programming slate is the introduction of "Bollklubben," a live, multi-format show airing four times weekly on Fotbollskanalen and TV4 Play, with a podcast version available to support continuous engagement throughout the week.

Selected matches will be broadcast both live on TV4 and streamed on TV4 Play, offering fans flexible viewing options. TV4 aims to make Allsvenskan more accessible and to create a comprehensive football experience extending beyond the matches themselves.
