Three Students Arrested in Serious Sexual Assault Investigation at Sigtunaskolan Boarding School

Police have arrested three 18-year-old male students following a comprehensive and planned operation at Sigtunaskolan Humanistiska Läroverket, a private boarding school in Sigtuna. The investigation centers on serious crimes including aggravated sexual assault, aggravated coercion, and assault involving three underage victims. These incidents reportedly took place between October 1 and 3.

Prosecutor Lisa Dos Santos, leading the investigation, confirmed that intensive investigative efforts are currently underway, with multiple interviews of the suspects scheduled to clarify the circumstances. The prosecutor is expected to decide on detention measures for the suspects by Sunday. The arrested students' lawyers have declined to comment, citing their clients’ young ages.

The school, which was established in 1980 and serves around 600 students with approximately 220 residing on campus, has expressed deep concern over the allegations. CEO Sofia Kinberg described the situation as both angering and saddening, stressing the seriousness of the accusations. In response, the school has suspended the implicated students and is cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities as the investigation continues.

This operation reflects a committed response by police and school officials to address these serious allegations, ensuring justice and safeguarding the welfare of students at the institution.
