Three Injured in Late-Night Jönköping Shooting; Suspect Arrested

A violent shooting incident in the Hovslätt area of Jönköping left three individuals injured late Thursday evening, September 25, 2026. Police responded at 23:28 and found two men seriously wounded and a woman with minor injuries, all of whom were transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have since arrested a suspect on charges of attempted murder and serious weapons offenses; notably, this individual is also among the injured.

The incident appears to have taken place primarily indoors and involved people who know each other. Police commander Linus Maxe confirmed that the injuries were inflicted with both a firearm and a knife. Despite initial concerns, police have so far established there is no link to gang-related crime.
