Swedish Women’s National Sprint Team Eyes Sixth Straight Victory in Ruka

The Swedish women’s national cross-country skiing sprint team is vying for their sixth consecutive win at the Ruka event, continuing a dominant streak that has lasted five years. Emma Ribom and Johanna Hagström, key figures in the team, expressed confidence ahead of the competition. Ribom, who claimed victories in 2022 and 2023, stated, “We will try to continue to keep the Swedish flag at the top,” reflecting the team’s strong drive.

Johanna Hagström, last season’s Ruka sprint winner, emphasized the unique atmosphere and the importance of the final hill on the course, saying, “It’s a special feeling here.” Other notable past winners include Maja Dahlqvist and Linn Svahn, who secured victories in 2021 and 2020, respectively. Ribom also attributed their ongoing success to favorable course conditions and a tight-knit team dynamic.
