Sweden’s junior ice hockey teams are demonstrating strong performances in the ongoing Junior World Championship. The women's junior team, Juniordamkronorna, opened their campaign with a confident 4-1 victory against Hungary. Fifteen-year-olds Moa Stridh and Tilia Lindgren scored their first goals of the tournament, sparking optimism for the team's prospects. Player Ebba Westerlind emphasized the significance of trusting their game plan, saying, "We want to be able to trust our game and our match plan, and we did that today." Sweden is scheduled to face Switzerland next, then Canada, the host nation, to conclude the group stage.

Meanwhile, the Swedish men's junior team secured a significant win over the Czech Republic, overcoming the narrative that Swedish teams falter under pressure.
