Sweden's F19 Team Eyes European Championship Spot with Crucial Italy Clash

Sweden's Under-19 women's football team is on the cusp of qualifying for the F19 European Championship, scheduled from June 27 to July 10 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After securing victories against the Netherlands (2-1) and Ukraine (1-0), Sweden's qualification hopes hinge on their upcoming match against Italy. A draw in this decisive game will secure Sweden the top spot in their group and grant them passage to the championship.

Team captain Broman, who recently transferred from Elfsborg to Växjö DFF in the Damallsvenskan, emphasized the importance of the match, calling it “one of the biggest matches in my career in the national team context.” She expressed confidence, stating, "If we perform as we should, we will win the match." Broman has played a pivotal role in the team over nearly four years and described the possibility of qualifying as "a dream" and "potentially the biggest achievement for this group."

The qualifiers are taking place at Borås Arena, a venue familiar to Broman from her time with Elfsborg.
