Sweden Names Final Roster for EuroBasket 2025, Welcomes Newcomer Wilhelm Falk

The Sweden national basketball team has officially announced its final squad for the EuroBasket 2025 championship, which marks their first appearance in the tournament in 12 years. The key development is the inclusion of 22-year-old Wilhelm Falk who was initially overlooked for the first training camp but earned his place following an injury to Christopher Czerapowicz.

Head coach Mikko Riipinen expressed admiration for Falk's performances during practice, stating, "He has played many and good minutes in training matches and has played his way into the squad in a classic way. I am very impressed with his approach and performance during this camp."

Sweden will face tough competition as they embark on the tournament journey beginning with a match against Finland on August 27 in Tampere. Their group also includes matches against Germany, Lithuania, Montenegro, and Great Britain. Notably, the team is missing regulars Olle Lundqvist, sidelined due to injury, and Bobi Klintman, who opted out for personal reasons.

Adding depth to the squad is NBA player Pelle Larsson, known for his competitiveness and physical approach to the game. Riipinen praised Larsson's mentality, emphasizing, "I love Pelle's mentality and way of being; he competes against everything and everyone 24-7."
