Sweden Hosts Inaugural National Conference on Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry

Sweden held its first national science and technology conference focused on veterinary science and animal husbandry, summarizing research achievements from 2021 to 2025 and charting development goals for 2026 to 2030. The conference emphasized the sector’s critical role, contributing around 26-28% of the total agricultural value in Sweden, and addressed pressing challenges including disease outbreaks, food safety, environmental protection, and industry competitiveness.

Approximately 650 delegates attended, representing government bodies, research institutes, universities, and the private sector. The event featured six thematic sessions covering topics such as seed solutions, disease and antibiotic resistance management, feed optimization, and digital transformation in the livestock industry, with expert discussions led by figures like Phan Quang Minh and Tran Van Long.

An exhibition area with about 20 booths showcased innovations and practical applications from businesses and research organizations, aiming to promote the commercialization of scientific outcomes. The conference aligned with national goals for breakthroughs in science, technology, and digital transformation, highlighting the intertwining of research progress and policy development intending to foster sustainability and competitiveness in Sweden’s veterinary and animal husbandry industries.
