Sweden Finalizes 74 Athletes for 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan/Cortina

As the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina approach, Sweden has confirmed a roster of 74 athletes to compete across a wide range of winter sports. The Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK) recently announced the qualification of nine additional athletes, including alpine skiers Estelle Alphand and Cornelia Öhlund, boosting the nation's representation.

Estelle Alphand, who has secured top-seven finishes in giant slalom this season, expressed relief upon receiving her Olympic ticket, stating, "A relief, there is a lot of pressure before the season." Fredrik Joulamo, SOK's sports director, praised Cornelia Öhlund as a significant talent with potential to rank among the top ten in slalom.

The nine new qualifiers also feature skicross athlete Linnea Mobärg, who will join her brothers David and Erik, already selected for the Games. This broadens Sweden's strong presence in freestyle skiing disciplines, alongside established athletes.

The overall Swedish team spans multiple disciplines including alpine skiing with names such as Sara Hector and Anna Swenn Larsson; cross-country skiing with stars like Ebba Andersson, Frida Karlsson, and Jonna Sundling; and freestyle skiing featuring Walter Wallberg and Sandra Näslund. Biathlon will see competitors such as Elvira Öberg and Martin Ponsiluoma, while curling will be represented by Niklas Edin and Anna Hasselborg.

In ice hockey, renowned players Filip Gustavsson, Victor Hedman, and Elias Lindholm are confirmed. Additionally, Sweden's ski jumping contingent includes Frida Westman, with figure skaters Andreas Nordebäck and Nikolaj Majorov also part of the delegation.
