Sweden Faces Third Consecutive Defeat in 2027 Basketball World Cup Qualifiers Against Estonia

Sweden's basketball team suffered their third consecutive defeat in the 2027 World Cup qualifying matches on Friday, losing 88-77 to Estonia at the Avicii Arena. This loss further complicates Sweden's chances of advancing to the next group stage and avoiding the European Championship pre-qualifiers. Head coach Mikko Riipinen criticized Sweden's effort and physicality, describing the team's initial attitude as "subpar." Team captain Ludvig Håkanson acknowledged the struggles and expressed frustration over the team's "low level" overall. However, he commended the new players, saying, "I am extremely impressed with them," while recognizing the need for improvement.
