The outfit unveiled by cross-country skier Jonna Sundling during a training session in Val di Fiemme features a dark blue shade that deviates from the official light blue specified for the Swedish flag. According to Swedish flag regulations (Lag 1982:269), the flag’s blue must be NCS 4055-R95B, whereas the team’s competition suits lean closer to S 8005-R80B. This discrepancy has drawn criticism and humorous commentary about Sweden’s national representation and identity, portraying the look as an awkward but endearing "nerdy" aesthetic rather than a stylish statement.

In parallel, the Swedish ski team’s competition suits incorporate white with a dark blue midsection, a deliberate contrast to previous all-white designs.
