Sweden Announces 420 Million Kronor Aid Package for Gaza

In a significant humanitarian effort, the Swedish government has unveiled a financial support package of 420 million kronor, dedicated to alleviating the pressing needs in Gaza amidst an intensifying crisis. The announcement was made on September 26, 2025, highlighting Sweden's commitment to providing essential assistance in healthcare and food distribution as the region continues to face severe humanitarian challenges, including widespread famine.

The allocation from this aid package includes 160 million kronor for both UNICEF and the World Food Programme (WFP), aimed at bolstering their capacities to deliver critical services to the affected populations. Additionally, 80 million kronor has been designated for the UN Population Fund, while the Red Cross will receive 20 million kronor to support their ongoing efforts in the area.
