Sweden and South Korea Forge Strategic Partnership on Clean Energy Transition

Sweden and South Korea have established a new cooperation aimed at meeting common challenges in the energy sector, particularly focusing on the clean energy transition. As both countries face major shifts involving electrification and expansion of electricity production, their collaboration seeks to leverage strengths in areas such as nuclear power, renewable energy, and energy storage. Maja Lundbäck, State Secretary to Energy and Business Minister Ebba Busch, emphasized the potential benefits of this collaboration, noting that “there are several areas where Sweden and South Korea can build on each other’s strengths.” The partnership thus aims to create synergies to tackle the challenges posed by energy demands and emissions reduction efforts.
