Svenska Skidförbundet is pioneering digital transformation by leveraging generative AI to digitize and make searchable over a century of skiing competition data dating back to 1908. This initiative, developed in collaboration with Capgemini, addresses the challenges of managing vast amounts of sensitive personal data from athletes, volunteers, and recreational skiers under strict GDPR regulations.

The federation has implemented a scalable Copilot agent that automates the processing of incoming emails and offers GDPR-related guidance, significantly reducing administrative workloads. Pernilla Bonde, Secretary General of Svenska Skidförbundet, emphasized the critical importance of secure and careful data handling to safeguard participants' interests.

This AI-driven system not only facilitates public access to historical skiing results through the platform skidor.com but also enables interactive visualizations of competition data. Frippe Stenberg, the Commercial Manager, highlighted how the data platform supports insights into recruitment and development in skiing disciplines.

Ulrika Jacobsson, head of IT, pointed out that digitizing and structuring the extensive historical data was previously overwhelming, but the new AI tools have made it manageable. Capgemini’s tailored solutions have been instrumental in creating a flexible and effective system that enhances both operational efficiency and public engagement.
