Svenska Kraftnät Awards NCC a Groundbreaking Billion-Kronor Power Line Contract

Svenska Kraftnät has signed a landmark ten-year contract valued at over a billion kronor with construction firm NCC for the development of 45 miles of new power lines in Västra Götaland. This significant agreement, set to be publicly announced on Thursday, showcases a strategic partnering approach that groups multiple projects into larger business packages, facilitating more efficient management and execution.

Per Eckemark, CEO of Svenska Kraftnät, emphasized the importance of this deal, proclaiming it is the largest contract the company has ever secured. He indicated that this contract is the first in a series of five major deals that are planned over the next two years. The next of these long-term contracts is expected to focus on the Västerås area, projected to be worth approximately 7 billion kronor and involving nine separate projects.

This move underscores Svenska Kraftnät's commitment to strengthening Sweden's electrical infrastructure and highlights the growing role of strategic procurement strategies in large-scale project execution.
