Suspect Abdou Njie Arrested in Major Gang-Related Murder Case in Sweden

Abdou Njie, a suspect linked to a gang-related murder in Haninge, Sweden, has been arrested and extradited after an extensive international search. His arrest follows a shooting incident that took place in August 2022, claiming the life of a 27-year-old man considered a prominent member of the criminal Östbergan network, involved in various criminal activities including drug trafficking and extortion.

Njie's connection to the case escalated after he was captured on surveillance footage leaving the murder scene using public transport. Subsequently, he was placed on an international wanted list and caught by Spanish authorities on April 24, 2023. Following his apprehension, Njie was extradited to Sweden in June 2023, where he has remained in custody since then. Another suspect was also arrested, purportedly for aiding in the crime.
