Two unfolding scandals are currently rocking the local political landscape in Sweden. In Sundsvall, two Social Democratic politicians are among six suspects in a financial crime scandal involving two municipal companies. Kicki Strandh, communications director at Sundsvall municipality, labeled the situation "very serious," expressing concern about the implications and the unanswered questions surrounding the affair.

Separately, in Skinnskatteberg, an investigation is ongoing into a suspected illegal pub linked to Ewa Olsson Bergstedt, a local Sweden Democrats (SD) politician. The pub reportedly sold alcohol without a license, prompting police and prosecutors to launch inquiries. Oscar Sjöstedt, SD's economic-political spokesperson, was filmed visiting the establishment. He described it as a venue where he gathers with close friends and denied knowledge of illegal alcohol sales, claiming he brings his own food and drink. The pub operator allegedly encouraged guests to buy beer via Swish payments labeled "Gorbys," but later distanced himself from responsibility, stating it was a private event. The local SD party has withheld actions pending the investigation's outcome.
