Ferry operations to Gotland have been completely halted. Jan Lundin, 63, who intended to spend the weekend in Visby, was forced to cancel his plans after his ferry was canceled. Despite holding a commuter card worth 32,000 SEK per year, Lundin received no automatic rebooking and struggled with Destination Gotland's app due to technical problems caused by high demand. With no available spots on other ferries until Sunday evening, he missed his entire Saturday and part of Sunday. Destination Gotland's sales and marketing manager, Adam Jacobsson, acknowledged the difficulties caused by the heavy load on their digital channels and clarified that automatic rebooking isn’t possible due to limited availability.

Train travel has also been severely impacted by the storm. Olly and Bailey, both 21, had their train to Åre canceled and opted to fly to Oslo before continuing their journey. The rail line between Duved and Stockholm remains closed all day Saturday, leading to cancellations of six fully booked trains. Lovisa, 37, who had been visiting family and planned to return to Åre, described the cancellations as disastrous for her cleaning business, fearing significant income loss.

These disruptions underline the extensive impact of Storm Johannes on Swedish transport, with no immediate solutions for affected travelers. Authorities and transport companies continue to monitor the situation, but severe weather conditions and infrastructure challenges have left many passengers seeking alternative routes or rescheduling plans.
