Spotify Wrapped 2025 Reveals Sweden's Top Music and New Features

Spotify has released its annual Wrapped 2025, highlighting the most streamed songs, artists, and podcasts in Sweden and globally, while introducing new interactive features. In Sweden, Kaj's "Bara Bada Bastu" emerged as the most played song, breaking streaming records shortly after the Melodifestivalen finals. The Stockholm-based band Hov1 topped the artist rankings for the year, followed by Veronica Maggio and Yasin. Notably, Hov1 had performed their last concert together this past summer.

Globally, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' "Die with a smile" was the top streamed song, with Billie Eilish's "Birds of a feather" in second place. Bad Bunny was acknowledged as the world's most played artist, trailed by Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.

Spotify introduced fresh features this year, including displaying users' favorite albums and a "listening age" reflecting their music preferences. A new interactive element, Wrapped Party, lets users compete with friends and family over music taste.

Podcasts in Sweden continued to be dominated by the true crime genre, with P3 Dokumentär leading, followed by "Fallen jag aldrig glömmer" and "Rättegångspodden." The popular English-language podcast The Joe Rogan Experience secured the fifth spot among Swedish listeners.

This year's Wrapped demonstrates evolving listener trends in Sweden, especially with Hov1's rise as the most streamed artist, overtaking last year's leader Taylor Swift, and highlights Spotify's efforts to enhance user engagement through innovative features.
