Six Sävehof Players Chosen for Swedish U18 World Championship Squad

The Swedish U18 national handball team is preparing for the upcoming World Championship in Romania, with a squad notably featuring six players from the club Sävehof. This announcement came amidst the ongoing Scandinavian Open held at the Prioritet Serneke Arena in Gothenburg, a friendly tournament serving as a preparation platform for the championship. During the tournament, Sweden faced a heavy 21-32 defeat against Denmark, highlighting areas needing improvement ahead of the main event.

Among the six players representing Sävehof, Sienna Karlström, Tuva Schmidinger, Nora Linder, and Jenny Sjöstrand bring valuable prior national team experience. Meanwhile, Emelie Ejdeblad and Signe Granberg are set to make their debuts on the international scene at the U18 World Championship. Sweden’s first official match in the championship is scheduled for July 29 against Canada at 14:00.

The Scandinavian Open also features teams from Norway and Denmark, providing the Swedish squad with competitive exposure.
