Severe Traffic Chaos in Central Stockholm Due to Road Work on Centralbron

Central Stockholm is experiencing severe traffic chaos as ongoing road work on Centralbron causes massive delays and driver frustration. Traffic flows have slowed dramatically, with vehicles crawling at speeds as low as two kilometers per hour. Malin Borelius, stuck in traffic for over an hour in Söderledstunneln, described the traffic as "catastrophic," noting that many drivers were so frustrated they exited their cars in the tunnel, which only intensified the delays and irritation.

The Swedish Transport Administration acknowledged the significant impact of the road work, which is scheduled nightly from 22:00 to 05:00. Borelius criticized the timing of the work, saying the decision not to close the road earlier to allow alternative routes was a "failure."
