A man in his 60s, employed at a school in Kalmar län, is under investigation and has been requested to be detained by Kalmar District Court for severe online child abuse crimes. Arrested on Tuesday at his home, the suspect faces allegations including aggravated rape of children, gross exploitation of children for sexual posing, and child pornography offenses involving victims primarily located in the Philippines and Africa, with the possibility of other countries being involved.

According to Ulrika Jarnemark, head of the National Operations Department (Noa), the investigation is in its early stages but indicates that these offenses have occurred over an extended period and are not isolated incidents. Authorities have informed the school about the charges, and they emphasize thorough information gathering prior to arrest to ensure a solid case and avoid compromising the investigation.

This case follows growing concerns about online sexual crimes against children, including reports highlighting the prevalence of Swedish men involved in child rape activities ordered online, with offenses costing as little as 150 kronor. The suspect's sexual interest in children and the international scope of the crimes have prompted the police to keep all possibilities open as the investigation continues.
