Swedish actor Örjan Ramberg has passed away at the age of 78, as confirmed by his daughter Tilde Fröling on Instagram. Ramberg's death marks the end of an illustrious 41-year career at Sweden's Royal Dramatic Theatre (Dramaten), where he debuted in 1978 and remained active until 2019. Known for his remarkable versatility, Ramberg's theatre repertoire included significant roles in Lars Norén's "Natten är dagens mor," Marie-Louise Ekman's "Försökskaninerna," and the classic "Gökboet," for which he received a Guldbagge award in 1995. In 2001, he was honored with the O’Neill stipendium by Dramaten, and in 2009, he was awarded the royal medal Litteris et Artibus for his artistic contributions.

Beyond theatre, Ramberg was recognized for his impactful film and television work. He first gained fame in the 1976 film adaptation of Ulf Lundell's novel "Jack," portraying the character Bart. He also earned acclaim for his role as Harry Friberg in TV adaptations of Stieg Trenter's detective stories and appeared in the popular television series "Wallander" and "Solsidan." Ramberg's colleagues fondly remember him as a talented actor with great comedic timing. Actress Lena Endre described him as "a fantastic actor with great breadth and incredibly funny," while actor Krister Henriksson expressed shock at the news despite knowing about his declining health.
