OSN chair My Alnebratt (S) stressed the importance of addressing these disparities to guarantee equitable, high-quality care for children and adolescents throughout the region. Additionally, OSN resolved to refund over 33 million SEK to regions and affected healthcare centers following a prior ruling that uncovered 84,615 incorrectly registered chat contacts at Distriktsläkarna Mölndal between February 2022 and April 2023, prompting a reclaim of roughly 27 million SEK earlier this year. These financial adjustments aim to ensure accountability and accuracy in healthcare reporting.

Meanwhile, Västerbotten gears up for the September 2026 elections, which include regional healthcare governance among key concerns. Political parties like Moderaterna, Socialdemokraterna, and Miljöpartiet are responding to calls for improved youth health support. Educators underscore the need for enhanced school resources in tandem with healthcare improvements, emphasizing early intervention for young people's wellbeing. Miljöpartiet has proposed investments in primary care, including hiring more doctors to boost accessibility, especially in rural areas.
