Princess Sofia Clarifies Limited Contacts with Jeffrey Epstein Amid Document Revelations

Princess Sofia of Sweden has publicly clarified her limited connections to Jeffrey Epstein following the release of documents linking several notable figures to the disgraced financier. According to recently published files, Sofia was listed among Swedish individuals associated with Epstein. In conversations with journalists on Safer Internet Day in Stockholm, Sofia addressed questions about her ties to Epstein, explaining she met him only a couple of times in social settings in her twenties, including a restaurant and a film screening attended by many others. She emphasized that she is grateful not to have had further involvement after those limited encounters. The Swedish royal court also denied reports that Sofia attended an Epstein-hosted premiere of "Les Misérables" in 2012, despite documents listing her as an invited guest. Sofia expressed sorrow for Epstein's victims, saying, "Now that I have read about all the terrible crimes he has committed against young women, I am very grateful that I have not had anything to do with him since those few occasions." The disclosures also identified other royals, such as Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, who apologized for her extensive association with Epstein, acknowledging the pain her actions may have caused. Sofia’s statements aim to distance herself from Epstein’s criminal activities while expressing compassion for the victims and underscoring her lack of continued contact with him after their brief social interactions in her youth.
