Ongoing Investigations into Vårby and Huddinge Shootings Near Stockholm

Authorities are actively investigating two recent shooting incidents in the suburbs south of Stockholm, specifically Vårby and Huddinge, with significant developments emerging. On July 11, a man was shot multiple times in Vårby, suffering injuries assessed as non-life-threatening. The suspected shooter, a 19-year-old male from Umeå, is already in custody. In a further development, another 19-year-old from Örebro has been arrested for allegedly aiding the attempted murder. Prosecutor Lukas Tigerstrand confirmed that investigations are still ongoing and highlighted the absence of any established personal connections between the suspects and the victim, indicating that there is no known link to local criminal groups.

Adding to the concerns, a separate shooting occurred in Huddinge during the early hours of Monday, where bullet holes were discovered in a residential building. Fortunately, no injuries were reported; however, police have cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation focusing on attempted murder and serious weapon offenses. Authorities are currently gathering evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.
