Moa Ilar Clinches Dramatic Victory in 10 km Classic at Oberhof World Cup

Swedish cross-country skier Moa Ilar secured her third career World Cup victory in an exhilarating finish during the 10-kilometer classic race at the Oberhof event. Ilar, 28, maintained a strong pace throughout the race, narrowly fending off Austria's Teresa Stadlober who finished just 0.7 seconds behind her. This win marks Ilar's first victory of the 2025-2026 season and her sixth podium appearance of the year, bringing her total individual World Cup podiums to ten. Jonna Sundling also delivered a strong performance, securing third place, 21 seconds behind Ilar.

Reflecting on the outcome, Ilar commented, "It was nice that I managed to hold off. When I win, I win by the smallest margin possible." The competition in Oberhof showcased intense rivalry, underscoring Ilar's determination and resilience in a tight field.

Following the Oberhof World Cup, competitors will head to Goms, Switzerland, continuing their preparations in the lead-up to the Winter Olympics in Italy. Ilar's victory at Oberhof serves as a significant career milestone and highlights her readiness for the Olympic challenges ahead.
