Mips Acquires Koroyd for Over 430 Million SEK While Gekås Plans Massive Store Expansion

Swedish company Mips announced on December 12, 2025, its agreement to acquire all shares in Koroyd and SCP George, collectively known as Koroyd, for a purchase price of 40 million euros, exceeding 430 million kronor. The acquisition deal also allows for an additional payment of up to 25 million euros, contingent on performance targets, marking a significant strategic investment in the safety equipment sector to broaden Mips' market presence.

Simultaneously, Ge-kås Manufaktur, founded by Göran Karlsson in 1963, is pursuing major growth by submitting a planning application to expand its discount department store by up to 50,000 square meters. This expansion is complemented by plans to increase the height of its existing hotel by several floors, reflecting Ge-kås' long-term growth strategy. The company, which started with revenues of just 80,000 kronor two years after its inception, now generates nearly 7 billion kronor in revenue annually.

These developments highlight significant economic momentum in Sweden’s retail and manufacturing sectors, underscoring substantial investments and ambitious growth plans towards the end of 2025.
