Micke Leijnegard, the 61-year-old SVT host, is currently on trial at Stockholm District Court for sexual harassment relating to an incident during the filming of the reality show 'Mästarnas mästare' in Spain in autumn 2024. The woman alleges that Leijnegard tried to kiss her twice without consent at a post-filming party, leading her to leave the production due to feeling unwell. Leijnegard admits to kissing the woman once but denies any sexual intent, claiming it was a friendly gesture.

The woman reported the incident to police two months later, describing the kiss as non-consensual. She testified that Leijnegard first cupped her face and then said her lips were soft before attempting to kiss her again, which she resisted. Witnesses, including a female colleague, have corroborated parts of the woman's account, noting she appeared uncomfortable. The defense argues the behavior was not criminal, with Leijnegard's attorney asking the court to consider the context. The prosecution describes the incident as a "ruthless assault" and seeks a conviction for sexual harassment or, alternatively, harassment.

Leijnegard expressed that the situation is "very sad" and "weird," emphasizing, "I have nothing to hide," while showing concern for the woman's feelings. The trial also includes examination of text messages where Leijnegard apologized for trying to kiss the woman twice, describing himself as an "idiot" and seeking to "pretend it never happened." A verdict is expected on November 5.
