MG Launches New Electric SUV MGS5 EV in Sweden

MG, the iconic sports car manufacturer, is making a substantial investment in Sweden with the launch of its new fully electric SUV, the MGS5 EV. Designed with Swedish consumers in mind, this spacious SUV features advanced technology, high safety ratings, and versatile battery options, responding to the increasing demand for electric vehicles in the region.

The MGS5 EV, built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform, offers two battery variants: a 49 kWh base model with a range of up to 340 kilometers and a long-range 64 kWh option providing up to 480 kilometers. Its fast charging capabilities allow for a quick recharge from 10 to 80% in just 24-28 minutes depending on the battery size. According to a recent report, it has received a top safety rating of five stars from Euro NCAP following its 2025 crash tests, further enhancing its appeal among safety-conscious buyers.

Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with the MG Pilot system, which includes features like collision avoidance and adaptive cruise control, making it one of the most technologically advanced options in its class. Its interior boasts a state-of-the-art 12.8-inch HD infotainment screen and supports mobile applications, offering wireless compatibility with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The starting price for the MGS5 EV is set at 379,990 kronor, and it comes with a generous warranty of seven years or 150,000 kilometers, showcasing MG's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. With nearly 25,000 MG vehicles already on Swedish roads, the launch of the MGS5 EV marks a promising step in MG's ongoing transition from classic sports cars to modern electric models designed for the future.
