In a troubling incident during a National League Cup match, Sekou Kone, a 19-year-old talent for Manchester United's U21 team, suffered a severe head injury while facing Tamworth. The incident occurred in the 42nd minute when Kone collided with an opposing player while attempting to head a corner kick. Despite initially standing, he soon collapsed and required immediate medical attention, leading to his being carried off the field on a stretcher with an oxygen mask.
The match was subsequently cancelled due to Kone’s medical emergency, and Tamworth FC issued a statement wishing him a prompt recovery.
