Major Fire Erupts in Multi-Family Building in Central Trollhättan, Prompting Evacuations and Firefighting Efforts

A fully developed fire broke out early Saturday morning in a multi-family residential building in central Trollhättan, consisting of four apartments. The alarm was raised shortly before 5 AM when a neighbor spotted flames originating from a kitchen and alerted both the residents and emergency services.

Firefighters responded promptly, rescuing six individuals using ladders and conducting evacuation procedures to ensure all residents were removed safely from the building. Ulrik Olsson, the duty officer at the fire service, confirmed that the building has suffered total damage due to the intense blaze and that efforts are focused on containing the fire and preventing its spread.

"It is a fully developed fire and we do not have control," Olsson said, emphasizing the severity of the situation.

Emergency services including the fire brigade, police, and ambulance remain on-site, actively engaged in firefighting efforts inside and around the building. Luckily, no injuries have been reported at this time.

The municipality is coordinating efforts to provide temporary housing for the evacuees as the operation continues through the morning into the afternoon. The situation underscores the importance of vigilance and prompt response in residential fire emergencies.
