Major Drug Seizures Link Organized Crime in Sweden to International Operations

Swedish police recently seized over 200 kilograms of narcotics, including suspected cocaine and amphetamines, during a raid at an industrial site in Nykvarn, south of Stockholm. This significant operation targeted the notorious criminal Foxtrot network, which is internationally connected and currently involves a main suspect believed to be abroad.

A woman was arrested at the scene and is suspected of serious drug offenses. The arrested individual previously worked as a corrections officer at Hall high-security prison near Södertälje but resigned earlier this year following a cocaine use conviction. According to Erik Guteson, section chief of the police's international and organized crime unit, the seizure represents a substantial economic blow to the Foxtrot network. The woman is expected to be remanded in custody imminently, emphasizing the gravity of the case.

Additionally, in Gothenburg, police arrested a man during a coordinated operation involving authorities in both Sweden and Kosovo. He faces charges of serious drug offenses and money laundering. Related law enforcement actions in Kosovo resulted in the seizure of properties, vehicles, and cash, while valuable assets in Sweden have also been secured to support the investigation.

The woman arrested in Nykvarn is suspected to have operated as a drug courier for the Foxtrot network. Her defense attorney has declined to comment on the charges. Meanwhile, law enforcement officials continue to analyze the seized narcotics and pursue the main suspect located abroad.

These coordinated operations highlight the ongoing efforts by Swedish and international authorities to dismantle sophisticated organized crime networks involved in large-scale drug trafficking and related criminal activities.
