A luxury restaurant in Östermalm, Stockholm has been closed following an alarming listeria outbreak that has affected numerous diners. As of now, approximately 20 individuals, primarily from Uppsala, are hospitalized with suspected listeria infections, which includes at least three serious cases of sepsis. The Stockholm environmental authority has registered around 60 complaints of suspected food poisoning linked to the establishment, highlighting severe health concerns among patrons.
The restaurant's tasting menu, served between September 25 and 27, consisted of 14 dishes, although the exact source of the listeria contamination remains unclear. In light of the situation, the restaurant management has taken the precautionary measure to voluntarily close their doors and begin an investigation into the matter. They have asserted that ensuring the health and well-being of their guests is their top priority and aim to reopen next week, provided they can confirm safety for diners once again.
