Lekeberg Politicians and Residents Unite at Forum to Boost Disability Rights and Inclusivity

The recent Funktionsrättsforum in Lekeberg served as a crucial platform where local politicians and residents gathered to discuss disability rights, inclusivity, and the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities in the community.

Alexandra Jensen Zoffmann, operational manager for Stiftelsen Sanna, emphasized the importance of recognizing every citizen's value, stating that a society’s integrity depends on including all voices. Emelie Olsén shared her personal experience with ADHD, urging politicians to simplify political information and engage directly with those affected by policies. Bettan Vidmark voiced a strong call for self-determination, stressing the right to live authentically and access information about political issues.

Political representatives, including Kristin Östman from the Left Party, highlighted their focus on improving services such as education and elder care while acknowledging financial constraints. Local residents, notably Erika Persson from the Kastanjen service residence, expressed concerns about staff reductions and declining service levels since 2019.
