Lars Hammar, father of well-known TV personality Filip Hammar, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with skin cancer. The diagnosis came after a malignant blister was removed from his forehead. In a heartfelt interview, Hammar disclosed that he would undergo radiation treatments for 15 consecutive days in Västerås. Unfortunately, due to his health constraints, he was unable to attend the prestigious Kristallen gala, where his son’s documentary, 'Den sista resan', won the award for Documentary of the Year. Hammar's wife, Tiina, accepted the award on his behalf.
Despite his diagnosis, Lars shared his resilience, noting that while the cancer is malignant, it has not spread. During the interview, he candidly spoke about the fatigue associated with his condition and the emotional weight that comes with it. He showcased his characteristic humor by reminiscing about his favorite leather armchair and emphasized the value of living day by day. Thankful for his family’s support, he expressed his gratitude towards his wife and maintained regular communication with his children, Filip and Linda, which he found comforting amidst his health struggles.
