Lars Adaktusson Resigns as KD Foreign Policy Spokesperson Amid Disagreements

Lars Adaktusson has resigned from his position as the foreign policy spokesperson for the Christian Democrats (KD), a move primarily motivated by his disagreements with party leader Ebba Busch. Adaktusson noted a significant lack of communication regarding his involvement in cross-party security discussions as a crucial factor behind his decision. He remarked that the current state within KD is "unacceptable," indicating systemic issues within the party's structure and leadership dynamics.

In an interview following his resignation, Adaktusson maintained that he shares a good relationship with Busch despite the circumstances leading to his departure. He alluded to a specific incident that precipitated his resignation, although he did not confirm its connection to defense negotiations or provide further details. Adaktusson's voting record, particularly his 22 votes against abortion rights during his tenure as an EU parliamentarian, has also been a point of discussion, albeit it’s said that such issues should not be dealt with at the EU level.
