Kia Unveils EV2: A Compact Electric SUV Set to Transform the European Market

Kia has officially introduced its new all-electric compact SUV, the EV2, targeting the important European B-segment with a launch planned for March/April 2026 in Sweden. Revealed at the Brussels Motor Show, the EV2 is Kia’s most compact electric vehicle yet, measuring 4,060 mm in length and designed to meet European drivers' needs with a flexible interior and spacious layout.

The EV2 offers two battery options: a 42.2 kWh battery providing up to 317 km of range, and a larger 61.0 kWh battery delivering up to 448 km. Both batteries support rapid charging, achieving 10% to 80% capacity in approximately 29 minutes. The SUV features advanced technologies such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capabilities, enabling external device powering and grid energy return.

Designed under Kia’s Opposites United philosophy, the EV2 showcases a bold, confident look with robust SUV characteristics and distinctive lighting. The interior includes a triple-screen infotainment system with over-the-air updates and comprehensive driver assistance systems.

Production will begin in February 2026 at Kia's Slovakian plant, reflecting the brand’s commitment to the European market. Kia Europe CEO Soohang Chang emphasized the EV2's role in making electric vehicles more accessible to a wider audience. Pricing details remain undisclosed.
