Job Support Program Launched for Over 650 Northvolt Engineers After Bankruptcy

Following the recent bankruptcy of Northvolt, more than 650 foreign engineers are now seeking support to stay employed in Sweden through a specialized job program. This initiative, launched by Jobbsprånget with financial backing from the Wallenberg Foundations, is tailored specifically for these engineers affected by the company's abrupt closure.

Alexandra Ridderstad, CEO of Jobbsprånget, emphasized the program's urgency due to the impending expiration of many engineers' work permits in September. "Time is of the essence," she stated, highlighting the critical need for rapid action to facilitate employment transitions for these skilled professionals, many of whom bring valuable expertise to the Swedish labor market.

The initiative marks a significant effort to safeguard the future of these foreign workers, who are eager to integrate into the Swedish workforce. The overwhelming response from the engineers indicates a strong desire to continue their careers in Sweden, ensuring their skills contribute to the country's economy amid the ongoing challenges stemming from Northvolt's collapse.
