Jakob Söderqvist Claims Victory in Postnord Danmark Runt Time Trial

In a remarkable performance, 22-year-old Jakob Söderqvist secured a significant victory by winning the time trial stage at the Postnord Danmark runt. He completed the 14.3 km course in an impressive time of 15:28.08, finishing five seconds ahead of Belgium's Alec Segaert, marking a historic win as it is the first Swedish professional cycling victory in a decade.

Söderqvist, recognized as Sweden's most promising male cycling talent, previously competed in the Olympics and is set to join the Lidl-Trek World Tour team in January 2026. His win at this event not only underscores his potential but also the resurgence of Swedish talent in professional cycling. Mads Pedersen, Söderqvist's teammate, finished third in the time trial, 14 seconds behind.

Reflecting on this milestone, Söderqvist expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received, stating, "For me, it is still incomprehensible what kind of backing there is around my cycling, and it will only develop, it's insane." The Postnord Danmark runt race consists of five stages, with Pedersen leading the overall standings after an impressive victory in the Giro d’Italia earlier this year.
